The Filthy Coward is the scum, working exclusively for themselves and shamelessly retreating from harm's way even if that harm is about to hit the Hero that just saved his or her life two seconds ago. They'll take every advantage and are not above using dishonorable tactics and dirty tricks, but they'll cry and moan every time the tables are turned. He is a great disbeliever in honor, seeing it as something that one could fall slave to, and that the love for other people was nothing more than a one way road to defeat.
Often full of vicious plans for anyone they dislike, as long as they aren't in need of that person's skills at the moment.
Even the cleverest Filthy Coward tends to be short-sighted. Even when they know that breaking ranks will leave a hole in the defenses that will let the enemy in, leading to far more danger for him in the long term, they will generally run for it anyway.
Their allegiance almost always lies with whoever can cause them the most immediate harm, even if that threat isn't likely to last. They'll be happy to badmouth people to their faces when they can not immediately hurt them, only to attempt to gain favor when the roles reverse. Filthy Cowards are especially prone to getting destroyed, usually at the hands of whatever they were trying to run from.
He fancies himself as the greatest, but he's nothing more than a stupid, incompetent jerk who thinks himself something far more than what he actually is.
When they are the main villain he appears to be scared of everything which led to paranoia and the desire to become so powerful that no one could harm him, at any cost.
He rose to be one of the world's most dangerous beings, quite possibly surpassing the much more level headed heroes
Even without taking into account his deadly cunning and due to his irrational paranoia, he's aware of the actions that usually get villains caught or destroyed
His preparations to counter everything are done so well, that only his arrogance manages to undo his plans.
Despite his cowardly behavior he is incredibly calm to a creepy extent, most people are in mortal danger by literally just being in the same room as him because of his utterly vicious personality.
He seems to be a polite fellow considering he's an absolute monster with no restraint with doing all sorts of horrible things to get what he wants. However, it's a façade for his cold, ruthless side, and he quickly drops the act when The Hero defies him via a fist to the face.
You see, when he talks to his enemies in a calm and friendly manner, that's to get someone's guard down before he attacks them.
He always wears a confident smile on his face while being friendly to mocking and harming people in a heartbeat. All while still wearing the same smile on his face.
He has quite a reputation for having that serene smile on his face as he attacks his opponents, making his mannerisms downright disturbing and showing that there's DEFINITELY something horribly wrong with him.
His behavior is extremely erratic because one minute he seemingly has a completely calm and cool demeanor, the next he is both maniacal and senseless. He is easily frightened by things he doesn't understand how to destroy. This unpredictable behavior makes him particularly dangerous because how far he will go to get what he wants.
When the Hero manages to turns the tables on him. The Hero then gives the Filthy Coward one of the most hate-filled glares in history while everyone else cheers for his defeat before the Hero disintegrates the Filthy Coward down while he's begging for mercy. Normally, trying to harm someone off who's begging for mercy, if a hero does it, it's normally a sign that they've crossed the line and became a villain. However, the Filthy Coward is such a horrible, evil, terrible excuse for a person that finishing him off while he's begging for mercy is a completely acceptable action.
Keep in mind the Filthy Coward even when begging is a complete SOCIOPATH, who would still harm innocents without batting an eye over and over again.
