Gosei Sentai Dairanger (Five Stars Squadron Dairanger) is the seventeenth installment in the Super Sentai franchise, airing from 1993 to 1994.
6000 years ago, the Gohma tribe and Dai tribe were at war, with five Dai warriors with extremely high Chi levels leading their efforts. Eventually both tribes disappeared, but the Gohma resurfaced in the modern day. Master Kaku, a former member of the Gohma who doesn't wish to see them destroy the world, gathers five youths with high Chi levels to become Dairangers and oppose their schemes.
The Members are:

Ryo of the Heavenly Fire Star/Ryu Ranger: the Hero. An aspiring chef and Rookie Red Ranger who leads the charge against the evil Gohma.

Daigo of the Heavenly Illusion Star/Shishi Ranger: The Number 2. A pet shop owner, he's the second-best warrior of the team next to Ryō. He's also very proficient in creating illusions.

Shoji of the Heavenly Gravity Star/Tenma Ranger: The Big Guy. A former delinquent and the comedy relief with dreams of being a boxing champion. He can control gravity to increase his fighting abilities.

Kazu of the Heavenly Time Star/Qilin Ranger A smooth hair-dresser who ran away to Tokyo in his youth. His fighting style is Drunken Boxing with a little bit of time control.

Rin of the Heavenly Wind Star/Houou Ranger: The Load. The lone female of the team; Kaku's niece from China who moved to Japan to attend college. Like Ryō, she is a Dai Tribe descendant. She is very intelligent and difficult to con.
.Kou of the Howling New Star/Kiba Ranger: A Bratty Half-Pint who found the legendary Byakkoshinken, and joined the team as the youngest Rangers and the youngest hero in Super Sentai history.
The Villians are The Ghoma. Eight thousand years ago they were the military of the three tribes, but decided to take the world for themselves and destroy the other two. The Gorma are humans who have master a You Power and gained the ability to become monsters. Their leader is the Gorma Emperor with many other divisions under him. However, it was revealed that most of the higher aristocracy had been killed centuries before the series even began. It was thought that Shaddam had secretly made clay versions of them all in a bid to be emperor himself. However, as he himself turned out to be clay, it is debatable who created the clay copies. While the You Power the Gorma uses gives them great power, it also has damages their mental facilities, as the most powerful Gorma are almost completely insane as seen with the Gorma Emperor and those before him due to the Earth Shaking Jewel.
The Members are:
.Emperor Gohma XV: The Big Bad. Or so we are led to believe.
.Shadam: Commander-in-Chief. At first glance, he's merely the Gohma Emperor's number two, but he's the Power Behind the Throne who fully ascends to Big Bad status when he kicks the emperor out, becoming Emperor Gohma XVI. He's a Complete Monster. Responsible for many bad things in the series on top of the fact that he cares nothing for his two sons and wife, his amazingly abusive treatment to Akomaru is the ultimate proof of this. He shows zero honor at that: when Doushi Kaku showed mercy for him and the tables were turned for his side, Shadam instead uses the chance to mercilessly and brutally destroy Kaku through utter one sided victory. He also doesn't give care about any of his subordinate, and the fact that they are clay dolls created by him and he plans to discard them once they are useless for him make this even worse. Even worse, that includes his apparent master. Yes. Basically, this guy gives no thought about his friends, his child, his master, or HIS WHOLE RACE. It's all about him in his head. It's particularly tirumphant when he met his demise...and gets revealed that he too is a clay doll created by the original Shadam thousands of years ago and crumbles while begging Ryo for help...
