To simulate the look of an actual documentary, it is shot in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track. The presence of the camera is openly acknowledged by the characters.

| i like the word nockumentary  i like the show i need to rent the first season just to see how the office came about i think the show is funny-and probably truer to reality then fiction  | |
